Gena Harris Lewis 

Gena has over thirty years of professional experience working with individuals and families. Gena has had the pleasure of serving at several Metro Detroit Human Services agencies; COTS, where she served in numerous positions. The Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries, serving as Director of Oasis Homeless Shelter and Transitional Housing for Men; a Career Advisor for MI Works; and Executive Director of Child’s Hope an organization devoted to the prevention of child abuse and neglect. In 2014 Gena reestablished her employment with COTS, where she currently serves as the Director of Domestic Violence Services, and as a Life Coach, assisting families through and out of the cycle of poverty. 

Gena is a graduate of Spring Arbor University, where she earned a Master’s Degree in Family Studies. She is a certified Family Life Educator and, a graduate of the DeVos Urban Youth Initiative. Gena also serves on the Transition Team for the United Conference for Women. 


Gena is a conference speaker and workshop facilitator; as well as an Adjunct Professor for Moody Bible Institute-Michigan Regional Classrooms where she teaches Biblical Lay Counseling.    


Gena is married to Thomas Lewis. They are members of Hope United Methodist Church. Thomas serves as a Lay Minister, and member of the male chorus. Gena serves as a Sunday School Teacher, and with the Missions Ministry. 


Gena is a former member of Metropolitan Community Tabernacle where she served in the Sunday School Department and Youth and Women’s Ministries. Gena provided spiritual counseling and guidance for individuals and families at Metropolitan.


A born again Christian, Gena feels a true commitment to biblical family values and spiritual wellness and the education of individuals toward these ends.  



Ivra Jackson


Ivra Jackson, a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, graduated from Langston University, in Oklahoma with a B.S. in Education. She has completed additional graduate work at Marygrove College, Cleveland State and Ashland Universities.

After 30 years of service to the Oberlin School District, Mrs. Jackson retired and is excited about the new journey the Lord has planned for her.

This Christian woman is very active at Rust United Methodist Church where she serves as a Sunday School teacher, member of the choir, Sparrow Bible Study student, Advisory Council, Staff Parish Relations, and Chair of the Nurture Committee. She recently completed required classes to become a certified Lay Speaker in the United Methodist Church. 


In her community, she serves on the East Ohio Conference Committees on Religion, Race and Worship and on the Board of Directors of Oberlin Community Services, the Ethics Committee of Allen Memorial Hospital. On the District Level, she is a member of the Firelands District Committee on Nominations. In addition to these civic activities, she volunteers at Welcome Nursing Home. 


Ivra is married to Bill Jackson and they are the parents of six children, the proud grandparents of twenty and the great-grandparents of five.

This gifted speaker and soloist has shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the states of Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania and presented various Christian workshops offering inspiration and encouragement through the Word of God.


 At the United Conference, she has presented workshops, served as a soloist, and graciously welcomed conferees as a hostess.


Jessie L. Reeder


Jessie L. Reeder accepted Jesus Christ as Lord at the tender age of seven an is uncompromisingly surrendered to Him! She has been married to Ray O. Reeder for 58 years and is the mother of two children, Leah and Terry (deceased), grandmother of three, and great-grandmother of one. She is a member of Rust United Methodist Church, where she serves as Director of Music, Sunday School Teacher, Sparrows Bible Study Group Teacher, Missions Chair, and member of Rust United Methodist Women. She is an original founding Board Member of UCW, and regales us every year with her tremendous song-leading! Jessie is a graduate of Tyndale Bible College (Farmington Hills, MI) in Christian Music Education; and holds a Bachelor's in Vocal Music Education and a Master's in Education Administration/Supervision from Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio.



Jodi A. Matthews

And her latest popular book: Revelation, Simply Put, the first visual commentary on the Book of Revelation, is stirring Christians back to this blessed book! Her eight years of research, teaching, and explaining Revelation is helping people approach this book with greater confidence and a fresh new look!


Diligently Working!

Jodi is employed at the United States District Court as court reporter to the Honorable Patrick J. Duggan.  Prior to, she was a court reporter at the 36th District Court of Detroit for nine years. She has been in the court reporting profession for over 18 years.

She is a student at The King's University in Van Nuys, CA pursuing her Bachelor of Theology w/ a concentration in Jewish Messianic studies. As an earnest prophecy student and an addendum to her educational matriculation, Jodi attained her Certificates of Completion in Eschatology: Bible Prophecy, The Book of Revelation, The Book of Daniel.

She strongly believes in the empowerment and education of our youth. She participates in the "Reality Check Workshop", inspiring High School, Middle School, and Elementary Students, helping the community to generate successful and responsible young adults. In honor of her work in the community, Jodi was chosen as Special Honoree for the 2012 Developing K.I.D.S. Organization's annual dinner given at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African-American History.


Transforming Minds!

Jodi helps people to become real to themselves. Her youth belies the "Seasoned Age" that she is in Christ. She is a member of the Peoples Community Church-Westland, where she actively serves in the ministry faithfully teaching Sunday schoolShe is married to Vincent Matthews, Pastor of Peoples Community Church of Westland. They have two beautiful daughters, Destiny Rachael and Jazmine Eve Matthews.

Jody Childress


Jody Childress, daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, Wife, and mom.  Many hats I have worn in this journey towards Christ.  Camper, counselor, program director, VBS director, youth director, parent group president, seamstress, cake baker, advocate, co-worker, friend.  All with the hope to give someone Christ, plant or water a seed, encourage or just help.  Married for 31 years to Aaron Childress, Terry to most, but a few.  Mom of four children, Noelle, Zachary, Peighton and Joi.  Now in the work field for five years, I seek to evangelize.
